Key Combos
Send shortcuts to any app
Overview
Key Combos let you send keyboard shortcuts to the currently active application. Instead of remembering ⌘⇧⌥K for some obscure app feature, assign it to a labeled menu slot and fire it with one click.
Supported Modifiers
| Modifier | Symbol |
|---|---|
| Command | ⌘ |
| Option / Alt | ⌥ |
| Control | ⌃ |
| Shift | ⇧ |
Combine any number of modifiers with any key. OwlScope sends the exact key combination to the frontmost app.
Use Cases
- VS Code — Toggle sidebar (⌘B), open terminal (⌃`)
- Figma — Zoom to fit (⌘1), toggle grid (⌃G)
- Xcode — Build (⌘B), run (⌘R)
- Safari — Open dev tools (⌘⌥I)
- System-wide — Take screenshot (⌘⇧4)
How to Set Up
- Open
Settings → Menu. - Click an empty slot or edit an existing one.
- Choose Key Combo as the action type.
- Record the shortcut by pressing the key combination.
Tip: Create an app-specific folder (e.g., “Xcode”) and fill it with that app's most-used shortcuts. One combo opens the folder, the next fires the shortcut.
